Becoming a Member 

The first step in being a member of First Baptist Prattville is to become a Christian. God sent Jesus, His perfect Son, to rescue and redeem us. 

We are sinful, broken people in desperate need of a Savior. Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave three days later. He conquered sin and death in our place. 

We become a new Christian when we repent of our sin and place our trust in Jesus alone to save us. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. 

The second step is baptism. Baptism is the way we go public with our faith in Jesus. It is a beautiful picture of the gospel as believers are immersed in water in the same way Jesus, died, was buried, and was raised to life. 

Pastors are available down front after each service to discuss becoming a follower of Jesus, baptism, and church membership. We’d love to talk to you and answer any questions you have.

Any person who has repented of sin, placed their trust in Jesus alone to save them, and has been baptized by immersion as a public display of this faith are eligible for membership. 

The next step is to meet with a pastor to discuss membership. Pastors are available down front after each service.

Joining a church is both an act of obedience to God and a personal decision. Every Christian should be a member of a local church where they can grow and serve others. 

There are a number of faithful churches in the River Region. We encourage you to find one and invest your life there. We’d love for it to be First Baptist Prattville!
