Welcome to Children's Ministry

First - Sixth Grade

Our kids are at all points in their faith, and our teachers meet them where they are. So whether your child has been in church for a while, or church is completely new, we welcome you! We purpose to bring the truth of God's Word into all lessons and events, and help equip parents with the best resources available.

First Grade Bible Presentation

Children currently enrolled in first grade at First Baptist Prattville are encouraged to participate in the First Grade Bible Presentation on Sunday, November 1. This special occasion is a time of commitment for parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children, but it is also a time to recognize our first graders. Parents will present their child with a Bible during the 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. worship service. Prior to participating, parents must attend the parent commitment class Sunday, October 25 at 9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room (located on the Children's floor). This class, led by Children's Ministry Director Megan Woodham, will give you an opportunity to preview your child's Bible, highlight Scriptures, write a note, and pray. Megan will also discuss levels of biblical learning and how to help your child grow in their love for the Word. Registration for First Grade Bibles is required.

Your First Visit

We want your first visit to be enjoyable, so here are a few things to know and plan for:

  • Use the back parking lot nestled between Washington Avenue and 4th Street. You'll notice an overhang entrance with two main doors.
  • Once inside, you'll see a Welcome Desk with a greeter. Let them know this is your first time, and they will help you register your children and find the appropriate classrooms.
  • The check-in process usually takes about ten minutes and depending on the nature of your child in a new setting, it's wise to plan for 15-20 minutes your first time.
  • After your first visit, you'll be entered into our system. Every visit afterwards, you should go directly to the computer check in. There, you will find your child's name by a simple search.
  • We ask that all visitors and members check their children in before going to class
  • Please note: Sunday School classes are available at 8:15 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. Children attend one Sunday School class, and then join their family in worship.
What You'll Find

You will find ministry leaders and teachers who are committed to pointing your child to the One who can save them and change their lives. We don't want to merely be educational, but we desire to show how Jesus transforms lives. You'll find a ministry that is eager to love your child and partner WITH you!
