In 2012, God began speaking to Travis Coleman about the future of First Baptist. Through the Vision 2020 project, the church embraced a renewed vision of Disciples Making Disciples, and Travis knew God wasn’t quite finished with him at FBC.
That was the start of the journey. Travis, and his wife, Arlinda, alongside a small group of prayer partners and confidants, began to seek God’s will on making a transition one day. Travis and Arlinda believe now is the time.
It’s time for new and younger leaders to Continue the Journey. It’s time for a fresh voice to be heard in the pulpit and to reset the church’s vision to win the lost and disciple the saved. It’s time for Travis and Arlinda to enjoy a new season of life. It’s time for First Baptist Church to search for its new Senior Pastor.
This is an exciting time in the life of our church. Travis will remain the pastor of FBC until the church calls a new pastor. We’ll keep doing exactly what God has called us to do – lead our generation to be transformed through God’s living word – and look ahead with anticipation on what God has in store for us next.
“…Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith….” Hebrews 12:1-2
