Song of Songs: Love, Marriage, Intimacy, and Yes...Jesus | Sermon Series
Culture has a lot to say about sex and sexuality. We are inundated with mixed messaging and confusing thoughts about the design of man and woman and the definition of marriage. However, God speaks clearly on love, marriage and intimacy.
Starting April 11, we will begin a brand new sermon series called "Song of Songs: Love, Marriage, Intimacy, and Yes...Jesus." Throughout this book of the Bible, we will see how God has designed love, marriage and intimacy to work. We will see what it means for man and woman to come together in covenant marriage. Rather than letting the culture talk to us about sexuality, we will allow God's Word to do the speaking.
What if you're not married? What if you're a teenager, single or a widow or widower? Does the book of Song of Songs have anything for you? Absolutely, it does! Above marriage, intimacy and love, we will see in Song of Songs that God, through His Son Jesus, is committed to loving and pursuing His people, the church. We will marvel at the love and commitment Christ has for us.
By Design: God's Plan for Marriage | Children's Ministry Teaching Series
We realize the Song of Songs sermon series may contain sensitive content for our younger listeners. For our first through sixth graders, we have created a teaching series for our Children's Ministry kids called By Design: God's Plan For Families that will happen during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship hours. Watch the below video from our Children's Ministry Director Megan Woodham as she explains the series and how it will work.
Children who normally attend the 9:30 a.m. worship hour with their parents can attend By Design at 9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room. Children who normally attend the 11:00 a.m. worship hour with their parents can attend By Design at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Children will move from their Sunday School class to the By Design class with their teachers. If you desire your child to not attend By Design, please let your child's teacher know at Sunday School drop off. Children will need to be picked up from the By Design class after the worship service ends.
Lastly, we also realize some of our preschoolers occasionally attend worship with their parents. Again, it is the parents' decision on whether to take the child to worship or leave in their preschool classrooms for Worship Care. However, during this sermon series, our kindergartners will have a special teaching during their Worship Care hour that will prepare them for attending corporate worship once they are promoted to Children's Ministry. Preschool Ministry Director Julie Parmer will teach the kindergarten classes about what to expect in a worship service and all they will encounter including baptism and the Lord's Supper. This fun teaching will help prepare them as they launch into Children's Ministry in August.
Please note: the Song of Songs sermon series and By Design Children's Ministry teaching series will run April 11-18 and May 9-30. During the two week break from the series on April 25 and May 2, By Design will not meet, and children should attend worship with their families.
