First Baptist Church of Prattville, Alabama, is a Southern Baptist Church located in the heart of Prattville's historic district. We are a multi-generational fellowship of believers who, together, continue to build the legacy of this church which was founded in 1838. In addition to being a cooperative member of the Southern Baptist Convention, we support and serve alongside the Alabama Baptist State Convention and the Autauga Baptist Association.
We are conservative in our theology and look to the Bible as God's inspired and infallible Word for guidance and direction in matters of faith and practice. It is our desire to offer opportunities for worship, growth, and service across the age-spectrum from babies to senior adults.
We offer two styles of worship on Sunday mornings:
A Tradition/Blended service meets at 9:30 a.m.
A Contemporary service meets at 11:00 a.m.
Our pastor preaches the same message at both services.
Our hope is that each member will also seek to worship as individuals through a daily practice of prayer and Bible study.
As believers, we have an obligation to grow in our faith, knowledge and practice as followers of Christ. FBC offers small group classes to help believers grow together:
Sunday morning Bible study classes for all ages: 8:15 & 9:30 a.m. These are open groups open to anyone. You do not have to be a member of FBC to attend or to join a small group.
Short-term Discipleship classes: Usually offered on Wednesday nights and Sunday nights throughout the year. Such classes usually last from 6 - 12 weeks and cover subjects such as Bible doctrine, various books of the Bible, women's studies, men's studies, marriage & family, prayer, etc.
Followers of Christ should seek to live out their faith beyond the walls of the church. We encourage every member to find a place of ministry within the body of Christ as well as a place to serve on mission in our community, state, nation, and other nations.
