Mitch currently serves as worship pastor, which includes leading worship in our blended service and leading our strong choral programs for all ages. He was born in Jackson, MS and he grew up in Pensacola, FL. One of his favorite childhood memories is being on the swimming and diving team in school. He first began a relationship with Christ when he was 8 years old, and he felt a call to ministry when he was a senior in high school. Mitch attended Samford University, receiving a degree in music education. He went on to earn a Masters of Religious Education and Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Before joining the FBC staff in 2004, Mitch served at FBC Clanton and Eastern Hills Baptist in Montgomery. Some of his hobbies include playing the piano and golfing. His favorite food is chicken and his favorite candy is a Snickers bar. His go-to vacation spot is Destin, FL. His favorite TV series in “Lost.” One of his favorite books is Then Sings My Soul by Robert J. Morgan. Some of the best advice he’s ever heard to is to invest in personal relationships and to treat everyone like they are your best friend.
