Dr. Travis Coleman Jr. has lovingly served the Prattville community and the people of FBC since the Lord called him in 1989. While being born in Atmore, AL, Travis spent most of his childhood in Florida, and one of his fondest memories is fishing with his father. It was in Homestead, FL where Travis began his relationship with Christ at the age of nine. During his junior year of high school, Travis began feeling the Lord work in his life, and during his senior year, he felt a calling to full-time vocational ministry. Travis graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic College with his undergraduate degree, and he attained a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and eventually, a Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Before he was at FBC, he served for four years as associate pastor of FBC Gulf Breeze, Florida and as senior pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise, AL for eleven years. Travis enjoys vacationing at the beach, and his favorite food is seafood. His favorite candy is Butterfinger, and he enjoys tennis, fishing, and the Florida Gators. His favorite movie is “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” and his favorite TV show is “Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.” Some of his favorite books are anything by Dr. David Jeremiah, His Needs, Her Needs by Willard Harley, Rediscovering Discipleship by Robby Gallaty, and Disciplines of a Godly Man by R. Kent Hughes. Some of the best advice he’s heard is when you say “yes” to something new, you are saying “no” to something old.
